Working Principle
Latching solenoids utilize permanent magnets to hold the plunger in both the extended and retracted positions. A short current pulse in one direction moves the plunger to one position and the magnet holds it there. A pulse in the opposite direction moves it to the other position. This design dramatically reduces power consumption compared to standard solenoids.
