Push-Pull Solenoids

Push-Pull Solenoids

Push-Pull solenoids provide linear motion in both directions, making them ideal for applications requiring bidirectional actuation. Cixin Electromagnetic manufactures custom push-pull solenoids with tailored force, stroke, and voltage specifications for your specific application.

Key Features

  • Bidirectional motion: Push and pull capability in a single compact device
  • High force density: Strong force output in a compact package
  • Custom stroke length: From 2mm to 50mm, tailored to your needs
  • Various mounting options: Flange mount, threaded body, or custom
  • Continuous or intermittent duty: Designed for your duty cycle requirements

Working Principle

Push-pull solenoids operate on the same electromagnetic principle as standard solenoids, but are designed to provide controlled linear motion in both directions. When current flows through the coil, the plunger moves in one direction. Reversing the current (or using a bidirectional drive circuit) moves the plunger in the opposite direction.

Applications

Automation & Robotics

Push-pull solenoids are widely used in automation equipment and robotic systems for precise linear actuation, part sorting, and pick-and-place operations.

Valve Actuation

Perfect for actuating valves in fluid control systems, gas valves, and medical equipment requiring precise flow control.

Printing & Packaging Machinery

Used in printing presses, packaging machines, and labeling equipment for precise positioning and actuation.

Medical & Laboratory Equipment

Applied in medical devices, analyzers, and laboratory automation equipment requiring precise, repeatable linear motion.

Design Considerations

When selecting a push-pull solenoid for your application, consider the following factors:

  • Force requirement: Calculate the force needed at the required stroke position
  • Duty cycle: Continuous operation requires a solenoid designed for 100% ED (or use heat dissipation measures)
  • Stroke length: Longer strokes generally require more power and may affect force output
  • Environmental conditions: Temperature, humidity, and contamination can affect performance and lifespan
  • Mounting and coupling: Ensure proper alignment and secure mounting to maximize performance and lifespan

Customization Options

Cixin Electromagnetic offers full customization to meet your specific requirements:

  • Force-stroke curve: Optimized for your specific force requirements at different stroke positions
  • Voltage and power: 6V to 220V DC, AC options, custom power consumption
  • Stroke length: 2mm to 50mm (longer available on request)
  • Connector and wiring: Wire leads, JST, Molex, or custom connectors
  • Housing and materials: Stainless steel, brass, aluminum, or custom coatings for corrosion resistance
